چکیده
This study presents the interannual variation in summer monsoon rainfall during El Nino Southern Oscillation (ENSO) phases, that is, and La Nina throughout Indian subcontinent its subregions 1986–2010. The analysis includes performance assessments of regional climate model (RegCM4) simulating through comparison with India Meteorological Department data. Observation clearly demonstrates Nino/La produced weaker/strong over it increases variability southwest monsoon. capability skill RegCM4's Grell Mix99 cumulus parameterization scheme associated extreme are usually higher “dry” conditions rather below average for accurate simulation “wet” conditions. Sea-breeze-initiated rainfall over the east coast of India during the Indian southwest monsoon
Sea-breeze-initiated convection and precipitation have been investigated along the east coast of India during the Indian southwest monsoon season. Seabreeze circulation was observed on approximately 70–80% of days during the summer months (June–August) along the Chennai coast. Average sea-breeze wind speeds are greater at rural locations than in the urban region of Chennai. Sea-breeze circulati...
متن کاملJuly droughts over Homogeneous Indian Monsoon region and Indian Ocean dipole during El Niño events
The monthly summer monsoon rainfall over the Homogeneous Indian Monsoon region (HI) that represents most of the variance of all-India monsoon rainfall is investigated using observational data from 1880 to 2002. Severe droughts in July occur mostly during El Niño events of the boreal summer monsoon season. They occurred frequently in the late 19th to early 20th century, rarely in the middle of t...
متن کاملsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Long-Range Forecasts of Southwest Monsoon Rainfall Explored for India
Southwest monsoon rainfall (received during June–September) determines the fate of millions of dryland farmers as well as the status of national food security in India almost every year. The need for information about southwest monsoon rainfall is great in these areas. An accurate long-range forecast can help farmers increase agricultural productivity in good rainfall years and negate the sudde...
متن کاملBreak-Monsoon Over India
Interruption of monsoon rainfall by prolonged spells of sparse rainfall (break-monsoon) during the midmonsoon months of July and August over the plains of northern India (20°-29'N, 75O-85'E) has been investigated. When a tropical low-pressure system moves from the plains in a northerly direction toward the submontane region of the Himalaya, the monsoon trough of low pressure also moves from the...
